2012  John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon Photo Contest Winner!

Entry #4, submitted by Paul Blissenbach from Bowling Green, KY, is the 2012 Photo Contest Winner!

About the Photographer:  Retiring as a Major from the US Army in 1993, Paul Blissenbach returned to the United States from Germany and found himself experiencing his first Duluth Winter, however, living in Minnesota was too short when he began a second career in retail that took him to warmer climates!  Paul now lives with his family in Bowling Green, KY but has returned to Duluth for the past 4 years to volunteer for the Beargrease. “I enjoy helping with the race and especially taking photos which may be an “inherited” trait; my Great-Great Grandfather owned and operated a Photography Studio in Mankato, MN from 1890 to 1910.”

Paul’s submission is a photo of Matt Rossi who lives in Herbster, WI, taken in 2010, about 3/4 of a mile from the starting line.

Great Photo - Paul!  Congratulations!
