RULE CHANGE - Notice to mushers on dog vaccinations, please see revised rules. Click on Race Rules located on the top left hand column.

Mid-distance: All checkpoints (other than start and finish) will be "truckless". Dog teams will be staked out at checkpoints and must be secured and supervised by a handler or the musher at all times. Trucks will be parked in designated areas near the checkpoints to accommodate transport of supplies and equipment on foot. Handler help is allowed and encouraged. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis and parking spots are not pre-reserved by race staff or guaranteed of placement.
Marathon: Devil's Track will be added as a checkpoint down-bound only. Trail routing to this checkpoint to be announced.
Marathon: Mandatory accumulated rest time remains at 32 hours plus start differential.
Finland checkpoint will likely NOT have a building for true interior shelter/facilities this year. The town of Finland plans to have the building demolished sometime this fall, but arrangements are being made to have at least one heated wall tent at the Finland checkpoint site. Food vendors and restroom facilities are being researched.
At the Sawbill checkpoint on the way down-bound, it will be a "modified" handlerless checkpoint. Handlers may bring the dog truck and park along the road. The handlers will be able to drop supplies for the musher at a drop spot, but cannot otherwise assist the mushers. The handlers may be in the checkpoint to watch their team and WILL be allowed to help get teams in and out of the checkpoint, but will not feed, attend to dog care, etc.
Mandatory rest at Sawbill checkpoint UPBOUND only. Devil's
Track checkpoint will be in use DOWNBOUND only.
